St. Mark’s is a beautiful and inspiring place for a wedding!
The Anglican Church of Canada defines marriage as:
“Marriage is a union in faithful love to the exclusion of all others on either side, for better or for worse, until separated by death. The purpose of marriage is mutual friendship, support, comfort, procreation (if it may be) nurture of children and the creation of a relationship in which sexuality may serve personal fulfillment.”
If you are interested in being married at St. Mark’s Church, we want to assist in every way possible to make your wedding day memorable.
Because you are looking to be married in the Church there will be a Christian Service of worship including prayers, readings from scripture, solemn vows and the blessing of your marriage.
The solemnization of Matrimony is a Christian act of worship in which two people promise, in the sight of God and in the presence of their friends and relatives, that they will love, comfort, honour and cherish one another, and live together faithfully for the rest of their lives.
A celebration of the Holy Eucharist can be an important part of the Christian Marriage Service, as newlyweds begin their life together kneeling at the Lord’s Table to receive the Bread and Wine of Holy Communion. (The Clergy will be happy to discuss this with you).
