Tree of Hope Lenten Appeal

Throughout the season of Lent, we are invited to embrace the call to a holy Lent through prayer, self-examination, and almsgiving. This year, we are pleased to partner with the Tree of Hope campaign in support of Family and Children’s Services of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (FACSFLA).

Your generosity will have a direct and meaningful impact. Donations enable the agency to provide gift cards tailored to the unique and immediate needs of families, offering dignity, flexibility, and practical support.

Contributions also strengthen two vital educational initiatives that empower young people to thrive. The START Tutoring Program provides one-on-one academic support for children with complex needs, helping them build confidence and succeed in school. The Futures Fund Bursaries assist youth in and from care as they pursue their aspirations—whether entering the workforce or enrolling in college or university programs. In addition, your support helps fund enriching, year-round camp experiences that foster growth, connection, and joy.

You are invited to participate in this Lenten appeal by making a donation using the special envelopes provided. Cheques may be made payable to Family and Children’s Services with “Tree of Hope” noted on the memo line. Tax receipts will be issued by FACSFLA for all donations over $20. As part of our Lenten journey, we invite everyone to “take up your Cross” from the Tree of Life and Awesome Mystery, allowing it to serve as a prayerful symbol of your commitment. May it guide your discernment and generosity as we grow together in faith, compassion, and service this holy season.
