A Message from the WardensFor the week of January 18, 2021 Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Barriefield, Thriving Together Teams function best when they work together. We find reference to this in Colossians 3: 13-15. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful. Scripture reminds us that members of the church are designed to work together and watch out for each other like a team. The apostle Paul tells us that God cares about how we interact with each other, because the actions of one person can impact the whole community of believers. When we all embrace opportunities to serve each other, fully devoted to unity and peace, the church flourishes. God’s life expresses itself in practice. In the way that Christians relate to each other, showing the compassion, kindness, humility, and readiness to forgive that Jesus demonstrated when He was here on earth, revealing God in His own way of life. In a real sense, the church as the body of Christ is a continuing incarnation of the Lord, to whom we are all intimately linked. Let peace rule. A beautiful calm and harmony emerge as Christians focus on living as God’s new people. As God’s people assemble and worship Christ together both unity and peace will result. Unified and confident, God’s people will focus on what is really important in the Christian life – doing whatever we do in Jesus’ name and giving God thanks through Him. We pray: God, thank You for using Scripture to instruct us, Your Spirit to guide us, and Your people to keep us focused and accountable. Amen. ************************************************ The Wardens are grateful to you for maintaining your financial commitment to St. Mark’s.
