St. Mark's ACWAnglican Christian Women Every woman attending St. Mark's Anglican Church is considered to be an Anglican Christian Woman. As such, all women in the congregation are warmly invited to attend St. Mark's ACW meetings that are held in the Parish Hall at 1 pm on the second Tuesday of each month. ACW's mission is to unite women in promoting the love of Christ with their time, talents and resources. Working together in fellowship, enjoying much fun and laughter. Upcoming Events St. Mark's ACW is sponsoring a Bake, Book, Bling and Bargain Sale that will be held on Saturday, April 12. (Priority needs for this event include: homemade pies; squares, and small loaves.) St. Mark's Church is also hosting a Garage Sale that will be held on Saturday, May 24. So, as you go about your spring cleaning, please keep a look out for items that could be donated to either or both of these events. Thank You!

Movie MatineeAll Saints - Saturday, March 22 All Saints (2017) is based on the true story of sales executive-turned-priest Michael Spurlock (John Cornbett of TV’s Northern Exposure), rector of a tiny, dying Anglican church in Smyrna, Tennessee who has been ordered to shut it down. If he successfully completes this task he will be rewarded with a prestigious position in a church in a large city. Instead, he attempts to save the church, as well as a group of Anglican Karen refugees from Myanmar who have recently joined the congregation. Please join us at Kingston’s smallest cinema, the St, Mark’s Parish Hall, for this PG-rated show, on Saturday, March 22 at 3:00 pm. Period PromiseA United Way Campaign The United Way KFL&A's annual "Period Promise" (formerly Tampon Tuesday) donation drive in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington (KFL&A) region runs from March 1st to March 31st, encouraging community members to donate menstrual hygiene products. Here's a more detailed breakdown: What: The Period Promise Donation Drive, formerly known as Tampon Tuesday, is an annual event organized by the United Way KFL&A to collect menstrual hygiene products for those in need within the region. When: The drive runs from March 1st to March 31st. Why: The initiative aims to address period poverty, where individuals who menstruate may struggle to afford basic menstrual hygiene products. What to donate: Community members are encouraged to donate tampons, pads, liners, and other menstrual hygiene products. Where to donate: Donations can be dropped off at St. Mark’s Church on Sundays OR at various locations, including Shoppers Drug Mart locations throughout Kingston, as well as at the United Way KFL&A office on Bagot Street. |
