Carolling in Barriefield

Tuesday, December 16

Good morning Barriefield villagers and St. Mark’s parishioners,

Yes, it’s that time of year – please join us for our annual evening of carolling in Barriefield on Tuesday, December 16, at 6pm. All welcome!

This year we will raise funds for TWO excellent causes:

  1. The Salvation Army Christmas Hamper campaign
  1. In keeping with the commitment made at the BVA’s AGM last month, the St. Mark’s Church Tower Restoration Fund

We will donate half of all proceeds to the Hamper campaign, the other half to the Tower Restoration campaign, unless otherwise directed.  Please indicate in your donation if you would like to support one or the other.

Some pointers:

  1. You can donate by E-transfer (especially convenient) to: Christine Sypnowich christine.sypnowich@queensu.ca
  1. If you want to donate by cheque, please make sure your cheque is made out to the Salvation Army Kingston - Hamper Fund or St. Mark’s Church (with Tower Restoration Fund in the subject line on the bottom left of your cheque) and drop it off to 249 Main Street.  If you want to donate to both campaigns, please make out two cheques.  Early donations are very welcome (and they might increase the chances of us coming to your door!).
  1. Individual tax receipts will be provided for contributions over $20.  Please give your address with your donation to get your receipt (although I do have addresses from last year on file).
  1. We’ll meet at William Michael House, 249 Main Street, at 6pm and then go out to carol together.  Carollers are warmly invited to return afterwards for holiday treats at WMH.
  1. Let’s have the village alight with Christmas lights to illuminate the carollers’ way (and carollers please bring lanterns if you have them)!

For the past few years, Barriefielders have been especially generous – last year we raised an incredible $4,200!  Let’s hope we can match (or beat) it in 2025!

Happy Holidays!

Yours,

Christine Sypnowich
