Bible StudyThe Parables - Wednesday, January 21 Why the Parables? Jesus’s parables are familiar and popular, but they are sometimes misinterpreted or misapplied, treated as timeless stories with moral lessons. But Jesus isn’t simply relaying information or providing instruction, he’s ushering in his kingdom. In this Bible study, we’ll discover that the parables are not merely describing something but doing something through the words and works of Jesus. The study will be at 1:30 pm on Wednesdays, at the home of Pam and John Barron at 222, Green Bay Road in Barriefield. All are most welcome to participate. There's lots of great, thoughtful discussion and much warm fellowship. Study sheets are sent out, through email, prior to the Wednesday session. If you are interested in participating, let John know at: jpgalleries2004@yahoo.ca |

Hubbard Mission in Zimbabwe
Susan and Sebastian Hubbard (Father Haynes’ wife and eldest son) will be leaving on Thursday, February 5 for a one-month medical mission in Zimbabwe. Sebastian has a medical placement at a mission hospital located about three hours north of the capital city, Harare. Susan will serve as a midwife, helping to teach at a hospital-based midwifery school and, God willing, assisting with the delivery of babies. Susan has been asked to bring essential midwifery supplies, particularly fetal dopplers, which are used to monitor fetal heart rates during clinic appointments and labour. These are greatly needed. Susan has already purchased several herself and is hoping others may be willing to help by contributing toward the purchase of one or two higher-quality dopplers, which are more durable and cost approximately $850 each. Anyone wishing to contribute, should contact Susan Hubbard directly, ASAP, at susanacasa@gmail.com (rather than placing a cheque in the collection plates). |

BOOKS! !BOOKS! BOOKS!
I am sure everyone has seen the books for sale on the table in the hall, but did you ever wonder where the proceeds from the sale of these books go? The table is managed by the Mini Outreach Committee which is part of the ACW. The proceeds from the sale of these books are used directly for outreach. Over the years, thousands of dollars have been sent to many different projects, from Alongside Hope (formerly Primates Word Relief and Development Fund) to specific needs such as the Jamaican Relief Fund. As soon as a decent amount of money is made, the ACW members discuss and decide where to send it. We don't leave money sitting around! Here is where we need your help. We would like to keep the books on the table fresh and current, so if you have any books that fit that description, please consider donating them to us. Many people have now read the books they got for Christmas and are ready to pass them on. We would love to have them! If you have any questions, or books to donate, please see Susan Evans (416-451-1538, or susan.dunbar55@gmail.com) or speak to any ACW member. |
