Medicine Quest

A Collaborative Programming at the Schools Museum

The Frontenac County Schools Museum (in Barriefield village), in collaboration with the Museum of Healthcare, will be hosting a collaborative programming event, Medicine Quest, on Sunday 18 August from 10am - 3pm.

This day of fun and learning is grounded in the "Three Sisters and Medicine Gardens" tended to by the Frontenac County Schools Museum. An Indigenous elder will be present to provide insight into the symbolism and uses of the garden - a valuable opportunity to learn something new!

Learn about the importance of nature study and agriculture to one-room schools and rural life, as well as make a pinch pot with a local potter. And while you’re at it, benefit from a personalized cure from a real Victorian “doctor”.

This unique event is free of charge, and suitable for the whole family. You don’t want to miss this one!

I hope to see many of you there. If you have any questions about the event, please let me know.
