Easter Day (April 5) - Holy Communion at 8:30 am; Holy Eucharist at 10:30 am (service will also be livestreamed)

Persons wishing to make donations for memorial flowers for Easter are invited to inform the church office by Monday, March 30, along with details of their loved ones.

This Sunday, being the fifth Sunday of the month, is our potluck lunch following the 10:30 service.

Parishioners are invited to bring lunch items on Sunday that we will share together, in lieu of the usual coffee time. A potluck is what it is: we take our chances and share whatever people bring including casseroles, cold meat, cheeses, salads, veggie platters, fruit platters and (hopefully) some light desserts.

Please plan to attend for some good food and fellowship. A rare chance to get to know those people in our Parish you haven’t had the opportunity to talk with. There will be coffee and tea too!

During our potluck lunch on Sunday, March 29, there will be a presentation by Rev. Patrick Lublink on the ancient and fascinating artifact known as the Shroud of Turin. This artifact contains an image of a crucified man which modern science cannot explain, and which has caused many people to believe this to be the actual burial cloth of Jesus Christ.

Is this piece of cloth genuine or it is a fake? The biblical, historical and scientific evidence will be presented to you and might surprise you; it will be up to you to judge.

Rev. Patrick served in the Canadian Forces for 22 years as a non-commissioned officer before entering full-time ministry with the Salvation Army in 1995. He was then seconded in 2003 to the Canadian Forces as a military chaplain where he served for the next 12 years. He retired in 2015 and now, in post-retirement years, is a part-time civilian clergy with the Canadian Force Joint Signal Regiment in Kingston. Rev. Patrick has had a life-long interest in the Shroud of Turin and is convinced that the Shroud is a silent witness to the passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Tyndale Seminary in Toronto in 2002 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Shroud Studies from the Pontifical Institute in Rome, through online courses, in 2019.

On Easter Day you are invited to bring individual flower blooms/greenery to cover our Cross.  These can be blooms from the garden (if they’re up yet!!), your home or blooms from the grocery store/florist.  The flowering of the cross represents the transition from Good Friday to Easter, from meditation on Jesus' death to joyful celebration of his resurrection. It transforms a barren cross, a reminder of Jesus' death, into an Easter symbol. Covered with fresh, living flowers, the cross serves not only as an emblem of Jesus' resurrection but also of the continuing presence of Christ among today's Christians.

St. Mark's Church Book, Bake, Bling & Bargain Sale will be held in St. Mark's Parish Hall from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Come and bring a friend or two, browse our tables filled with Baking, Books and Bargains.

Please bring cash or cheques (made payable to St. Mark's ACW), and don't forget to bring a bag to carry your purchases.

Donations urgently needed 

The ACW need your books, baked goods, bling and bargains for the sale.  Please bring your items to the church hall on, Friday, April 10 between 10 am and 12 noon.

We will be holding our ‘Spring Clean-up Day’ on Saturday, April 18.  Plans have been made for the cleaning of the inside of the church, the Parish Hall and the church grounds.  Pick one of the three areas and bring the supplies you will need to work in that area.  The work is scheduled from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Bring a lunch if you need one.  Coffee and tea will be available in the Parish Hall.
