Defibrillator Purchase
St. Mark's Parish Council has approved the purchase of a Philips, portable AED (Automatic External Defibrillator). Many thanks to all whose generous donations made this purchase possible. The defibrillator will be housed in a specially marked cabinet installed in the church hall, readily available to render assistance to parishioners and visitors to St. Mark's in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest. |

Pies Galore!!
The Tea pots are now empty, and the Special Projects Group is working towards its next fundraiser: the sale of PIES for Thanksgiving! Homemade pies will be $20 each, frozen or fresh.. So, to support this event, we are asking that you consider making pies while the summer fruit is in season, freeze the pies, unbaked, and have them available for October. We would be pleased if each St. Mark's family that is able could provide two pies for the fundraiser. Some suggestions for pies are apple, blueberry, rhubarb, strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, and many more! Pies are all to be 10" size (foil container), placed in plastic zip lock bag, then frozen, with a label indicating the type of pie and instructions for baking. Lemon pies are also popular and would be sold fresh. We will find freezer space if you do not have your own. This is a new fundraiser idea for St. Mark's and we hope we can make it successful!! Please speak to Jeannette Calmettes or Heather Grimshaw if you need more information. |

Volunteers Needed
As with any household, there are regular chores that need to be done here at St. Mark's to support the worship and life of this faith family. One of these chores is "taking out the garbage". We are looking for three (or more) volunteers willing to take on this task for the months of July, August and September respectively. All that's involved is taking the garbage and recycling bins from the back of the parish hall down to the bottom of the driveway on Main Street on Monday afternoon/evening. And then returning the empty containers on Tuesday. A trolley is provided to assist with the transfer. If you (or your teenage children) would like to take on this task, or if you would like more details, please contact Melody in the church office (613 546 3386). |
