Sunday, August 30, being the fifth Sunday of the month, is our potluck lunch following the 10:30 service.

Parishioners are invited to bring lunch items on Sunday that we will share together, in lieu of the usual coffee time. A potluck is what it is: we take our chances and share whatever people bring including casseroles, cold meat, cheeses, salads, veggie platters, fruit platters and (hopefully) some light desserts.

Please plan to attend for some good food and fellowship. A rare chance to get to know those people in our Parish you haven’t had the opportunity to talk with. There will be coffee and tea too!

ACW will be meeting at 1 pm in the Parish Hall for its regular monthly meeting.

You are invited to join us at St. Mark’s Anglican Church Hall on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm, commencing on September 9, for a time of fellowship and discussion.

It is open to serving and retired members of the CAF.

This will be a safe place and time to meet and chat with alike others.

From September 10, the Parish program for SENIORS HAVING FUN takes place every Thursday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Parish Hall.  This weekly gathering is open to any Senior looking for a social outlet, especially in the colder and darker months of the year.

We have discussions, play cards or board games, occasionally have topical presentations for Seniors, and generally have fun together.

Light refreshments are served during our two hour program.

Bring a friend and come join us every Thursday, rain or shine.

Commencing September 14, St. Mark’s Men’s Group gathers in the parish hall, each Monday morning from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, for a time of lively conversation, discussion, learning, and Christian fellowship.

The group warmly welcomes all who feel called to serve God and the community, from both within and outside the parish.   Sometimes we discuss challenging and emotive issues, but we acknowledge and respect each other’s individual calling and faith journey, and seek always to treat each other with love and courtesy.

St. Mark's Book Club will be meeting at 2:30 on Monday, September 21, to discuss the book "Out of my Comfort Zone - a journey with God into the unknown", by Beverley Rupke.

This book is a two-part memoir sharing stories from Bev Rupke's three decades of overseas ministry, initially serving as a single missionary, and then meeting and working alongside her husband, Chris.

Through ordinary days and extraordinary encounters, these stories reveal God's faithfulness, provision and guidance. and the surprising ways He works in ordinary lives.

The book is available on Amazon (paperback and kindle).  All proceeds from this book will go to support the African Hope school where Bev and Chris served for almost 10 years, and various other refugee work in Africa. 

Bev and Chris are known to many at St. Mark's and the photo above is from their visit here in June 2018.  St. Mark's supported their missionary work at the African Hope school for many years.
