Hurricane Relief Fund
On October 29 hurricane Melissa ravaged the Island nation of Jamaica (as well as Haiti and Cuba.) Two of St. Mark’s families hail from Jamaica and still have very deep familial and friendly connections to the Island. Alongside Hope (PWRDF) is working with partners on the ground in Jamaica but are still at the needs assessment stage. There is one organization, entitled “Food for the Poor”, that is currently taking donations to help those in need. If you wish to respond to the ongoing need right now, please visit their website (https://www.foodforthepoorja.org/) or click on the Button below. Thank you (Please note: As donations are directly to FFTP, tax receipts cannot be provided by St. Marks). For more infomation visit:

St. Mark's Book ClubMonday, November 17 St. Mark's Bookclub will be meeting at the home of Alan Rumsey on Monday, November 17 at 2 pm, to discuss "The Book of Love" In this book, bestselling author Andrew M. Greeley and his sister Doctor Mary G. Durkin present an inspirational volume celebrating the greatest of all virtues: love. Love emerged in humankind not as a result of our being human, but as the supreme gift from one who loved us before we were even created: God. As a result of this one common bond that unites all races and creeds, the first family emerged, which lead to the creation of communities, civilizations, and all of the accomplishments therein--for nothing is impossible when love is involved. If you plan to attend this Boolclub meeting on November 17, please let Alan know. |
